From 10-15th November I’m writer-in-residence at the super new refurbed Manchester Central Library as part of Chaos to Order, a series of events curated by the band Everything Everything. Here’s the trailer:
Every day that week I’ll be reading Frank O’Hara’s Lunch Poems in the cafe at lunchtime between 12.30-1.30. Come along to listen and/or bring your own poems to read. Then on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, I’ll be in the archives from 5-6ish to chat to anyone who has any questions about their writing – I’ll try my best to be useful. I’m also organising an event on Wednesday 12th November at 6.30pm – Chaos and Shape – where four authors will talk about their work in the context of the theme ‘Chaos to Order’. I’ll going to read something brand new: an extract from my third novel. The other authors reading will be Chris Killen, Zoe Lambert and Kerry Wilkinson (l-r, below).
The event will be hosted by Chaos to Order co-writer-in-residence Greg Thorpe (below). Greg is a Manchester-based writer, DJ, promoter and event organiser. He has worked with Cornerhouse, Islington Mill, Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Evening News, Creative Tourist and others. He runs two club nights and is a graduate of the University of Manchester and of the Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University.
